Siemens announced the retirement of its legacy APOGEE and TALON product lines effective March 1, 2026. Retirement doesn’t mean your system shuts off — it means Siemens has stopped selling those controllers and is steering all new engineering toward its current platform, Desigo. Per Siemens’s published modernization pathway, spare parts and support for existing installations continue through February 28, 2033 — “subject to availability.”
Those last three words are the ones that matter. Availability is already the practical problem: as thousands of buildings work through the same transition, replacement controllers, parts, and the technicians who still know the legacy tools all get scarcer — and more expensive — every year between now and 2033.
Your building doesn’t stop working, and you don’t need to rip everything out this budget year. A well-maintained APOGEE system will keep running. What changes is your risk profile: every failed controller now draws from a shrinking parts pool, and every year of waiting compresses your eventual migration into a tighter, more expensive window. The owners who come out of this well are the ones who plan the transition across two or three budget cycles instead of reacting to a dead panel with tenants in the building.

Migrating to Desigo PXC4/5/7 with native BACnet/IP and re-engineered sequences — the cleanest long-term result, typically staged area-by-area or plant-first.
