Our Mission
Universal Controls Solution is a controls company built to serve the Colorado Front Range and customers nationwide with a highly trained, accountable team. We deliver dependable project management, application engineering, and controls programming — giving our customers confidence in the systems running their buildings. Through strong partnerships and a continuously developed team, we provide the right solution for every project.
Our History
Universal Controls Solution was founded in 2021 by Co-Founders and 50/50 owners David and Misty Jonas with a clear goal: build a controls company committed to quality work, accountability, and long-term customer relationships. From day one, David and Misty have co-managed the business — Misty leading everything operational (office, field, and service), and David leading finance and sales.
UCS was founded to serve the Colorado Front Range, and quickly began taking on work outside the state as customers and partners brought us into new markets. Today UCS serves customers across 13 states, and our capabilities, knowledge, and reach continue to expand — meeting and exceeding the standards set by industry leaders.

We're vendor-flexible across platforms and manufacturers. The list below is a sample of what we work with — not a limit. Don't see your system? It's almost certainly something our team can support. We currently represent ABB Cylon, Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, and Johnson Controls Facility Explorer (FX) — with Tridium Niagara as our supervisory and integration standard, NiagaraMods Reflow as our standard operator interface, and Niagara N4-certified technicians on staff.
Our team has installed, programmed, and serviced these systems in the field — including lines we don't represent — so we know the real strengths and trade-offs first-hand. That experience lets us act as a true advocate for the owner, not a salesperson for a badge.
Our brand-agnostic capabilities let us service and integrate whatever systems a facility already runs — a key reason CCSD trusts us across their campuses.

David Jonas
Co-Founder and 50/50 owner of Universal Controls Solution, David leads the company’s finance and sales. With over three decades across the commercial HVAC and controls worlds — as an installer, technician, programmer, and project manager — he has helped grow UCS into an outfit capable of technical work on par with the best in the market and beyond, built on a model that puts responsiveness to customer needs first.
Misty Jonas
Co-Founder and 50/50 owner of Universal Controls Solution, Misty leads operations — office, field, and service. She runs the company day to day, keeping the team running smoothly and efficiently, and her eye for organization ensures projects move from proposal to completion without missing a beat.
